Connect search visibility, AI answers and buyer decisions without treating GEO as a shortcut around SEO.
Start with the decision, not the acronym
SEO helps a website become discoverable through search. GEO, short for generative engine optimization, describes work intended to make a business and its information easier to understand and reference in generated answers. Neither discipline should begin with a promise of guaranteed placement. The useful starting question is which buying decision your website needs to support.
For a Vietnamese service business, that decision might involve scope, local knowledge, delivery process or supplier credibility. A page that explains those issues can support a search visitor and a reader arriving from an AI answer. Knock Knock treats this as one discovery journey with several entry points, rather than two disconnected publishing programmes.
Keep the foundation shared
Google’s AI features guidance says existing SEO fundamentals remain relevant and that there is no extra technical requirement for AI Overviews or AI Mode. Eligibility is not a guarantee of inclusion. This is a useful boundary when evaluating proposals that sell a special AI-ranking switch.
Our recommended work starts with accessible pages, accurate service descriptions, evidence and clear next steps. Then map the questions buyers ask before contacting sales. Separate an informational question from a request to compare providers: they need different depth, proof and calls to action.
Give the work a commercial owner
Agree who approves claims, who implements website changes and who reviews lead quality. Track visibility separately from enquiries and sales outcomes. A citation can be useful without producing a visit; a visit can be valuable without immediately becoming a sale.
For a first engagement, choose one priority service and a small set of buyer questions. Improve the service page, publish supporting explanations and review what prospects still ask. Expand only when the team can maintain the evidence and respond to the demand. That is a practical SEO and GEO brief, not a promise to control another platform’s answers.
