Plan video duration, story, crew, filming locations, versions and licensing before commissioning a TVC or social film.

NỘI DUNG CHÍNH
  1. Define the job of the film
  2. List the production stages
  3. Specify delivery rather than one video

Define the job of the film

A brand film introducing credibility has different production demands from a performance advertisement demonstrating product benefits. Identify one message, a target viewer and the next action. Decide whether the campaign needs a hero film, a series of cutdowns or several independent social videos.

Provide product information, campaign concept, approved claims, examples of tone and any must-show footage. Even an early estimate benefits from a rough storyboard or shot list.

List the production stages

A useful quote separates creative development, script, storyboard, pre-production, locations, casting, crew, set, equipment, filming days, post-production, voice, music, subtitles and output versions. Clarify who obtains permissions and who owns production insurance or local permits where required.

Budget exposure often comes from unclear variables: talent usage, international markets, seasonal timing, additional shooting days and licensing. Ask suppliers to state assumptions so bids can be compared fairly.

Specify delivery rather than one video

Describe duration ranges, 16:9 or vertical framing, social-safe cuts, captions, languages, aspect ratios and file codecs. If the product launches in several markets, plan alternate supers and dialogue versions early.

Set approval points at concept, script, offline edit and final master. A major conceptual change after shooting is not comparable to a small post-production correction.

Choose a review and rights process

Assign a client producer or single final approver. Confirm image rights, music use, talent releases, archival footage and duration of usage. Request an asset list and delivery structure for future adaptations.

The best production partner makes the creative idea achievable while showing the trade-offs clearly. A transparent scope protects both quality and budget.

An example deliverables and approval table

An agency estimate might separate a thirty-second hero film, short vertical adaptations, subtitles and still frames extracted from video. Each deliverable should have a known duration, language, aspect ratio and intended use. If a short vertical version requires a different composition, it should be anticipated during filming rather than treated as a free crop.

Establish approvals for script, casting, production design, first edit and final master. Describe whether client feedback is consolidated and how changes are handled after each approval. This keeps small technical corrections distinct from new creative direction.

Plan final handover requirements: codecs, naming, local versions, licensed music and talent agreements, plus who stores the project archive. A well-briefed production creates reusable value beyond the first campaign release.
